*RIP Bella...Our darling herd matriarch who has gone on to heavenly pastures* (07-01-06 to 02-18-14)
Our family farm is located in beautiful, Black Forest, Colorado (about 25 minutes from Colorado Springs & about 20 minutes from Falcon). All of the beautiful pictures you see on this website are taken right here in Black Forest, Colorado (by Jennifer Lind). I truly hope you enjoy the wild, rugged, beauty of the Rocky Mountains that is captured in these photos! (These photos, of course, don't do it justice!)
We raise a small, select herd of Nubians, that are hand picked from top breeders across the country. This provides us with a very unique bloodline that incorporates the strengths from our most admired bloodlines around the world! Our goal is to breed beautiful, competitive, and productive Nubians for family homes as well as for the show ring. We want you to be proud to walk into the ring with one of our Nubians! It is tricky breeding top stock while maintaining a small herd, but we believe this is the best way to ensure you are getting top stock. With such a small herd we can't afford to keep anything but the best! Nubians are a joy to work with and I am always excited to see my yearly kid crop! They are truly some of the sweetest, hilarious and most stubborn animals I have ever had the pleasure to work with!
Now for a little history on how my "Majestic" herd began!
My Nubian herd began with my very first doe "Bella". It was a beautiful, brisk day in 2009, which also happened to be my birthday. One of my neighbors had recently bought a couple dairy goats and she asked me if I would like one of them. I didn't know a THING about goats at the time, but thought they were darling! So I said, "Yes, I would!", but I didn't think circumstances would allow it at the time. I decided to go over and "just look" at them. Well, when I approached the goat pen, one doe (Bella) stopped eating, came over and hopped up on the fence and she looked me right in the eyes! So, long story short, in the middle of my birthday celebration my neighbor walks in the driveway with the most darling goat I had ever seen, as she just knew Bella was meant for me & I for her (She was wearing a hot pink collar and lead to boot)! Bella stayed right with me the entire day and even waited for me on the deck when I went inside to get the cake! Up to the day she passed away, she would never leave my side! I rightly named her "The Montabella" for she most definitely is/was my "Mountain Beauty". I am SO honored to have had the pleasure of her sweet, loving company for as long as I did. I just wish it could have been longer... Rest in peace my dear Bella, you are forever loved and will be sorely missed....
I quickly fell in love with these wonderfully sweet and playful animals, "How could you not"? Today I own a larger herd of ADGA Registered Nubians.
I now own (12) darling Nubians! Princess Nuala, Capella, Mystique, Ruse, Deja' Vu, Lucky Charm, Daiquiri, Chardonnay, Prince Nuada, Argos, Valiant & Time Jr!
I thank God daily for His unyielding grace, love, strength, & guidance... without Him I wouldn't be where I am today!
***Below is a photo album with some fun pictures from my "Majestic" herd.***
